About W.E Harris Community Center
W.E. Harris Community Center is located at 400 East Harris Street, in the old Hastings Elementary School. Our Facility offers a variety of sport activities. W.E. Harris Community Center gymnasium has:
- One indoor basketball courts
- Two outdoor basketball courts
- One indoor volleyball court
- Playground area
- Weight room
- Computer room and a small library for our after school program.
Al Wilke Park is located at 6150 South Main Street. The facility sits on six acres of land offering a variety of amenities. We have:
- Softball / Baseball field
- Multi purpose field
- Two outdoor basketball courts
- Unlighted tennis courts
- Playscape
- Covered picnic area that has tables, benches and parking available to the public.
Also located here is a Teen Center for ages 13 – 17 years old. We provide opportunities for students to do homework and spend time with their friends. The center has a staffed employee to watch over what the kids are doing while in the facility.

Community Center Programs
- After School Care
Ages 6-12 years old
Monday – Friday
3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Our after school care is for children in
grades Kindergarten through fifth grade. We provide time for children
to complete homework and take part in extra recreational activities during
the afternoon.
Summer Program
- Summer Camp
Ages 6-12 years old. Our Summer Camp Program offers a variety of activities
for children in our community. The program has limited enrollment of 120.
The Summer camp has staffed employees who watches over what the children are
doing while in the facility.
The program includes field trips, swimming, nutritional
programs provided by the County Health Department, Hastings library, and Youth
Off Drugs and Alcohol, along with some exciting field trips.
