- 3rd Annual Turtle Trot & Beach Clean Up – Don't miss Osceola Elementary & Keepers of the Coast's Turtle Trot February 25th at 3:00 p.m., Turtle Trot Expo Friday, February 24th, and the pre-race beach clean up on Saturday morning. These are great family events and the race is fun for all ages and abilities whether you walk or run! Get more information at http://www.turtletrot.com/.
- Super Summer Spectacular – The Recreation & Parks Department Summer Camps are for children ages 6-12 (must complete kindergarten by the start of camp). Camps emphasize outdoor activities and offer campers a variety of fun activities including exciting field trips, arts & crafts, and swimming once a week. Camp dates: June 18th to August 3rd. Lottery registration is held online and starts March 5th, 2012 and closes March 16th, at 5:00 pm. More info.
- Adult Tennis Clinic – Twelve week clinic at the courts on Orange St. Monday, March 5th through May 21st, 6:00 PM-9:00 PM. Pre-registration is required. To register, visit the St. Johns County Recreation and Parks Department, 2175 Mizell Rd, February 1st - 29th, M-F, 9:00-4:00. Fee is $20.00 for county residents, $30.00 for non-county residents. Fee is non-refundable and not pro-rated. All you need to bring is a tennis racquet, a new can of balls and a willingness to have a good time. - Beach driving passes are available now at pre-season prices of $30.00 for St. Johns County residents and $40.00 for non-residents. They may be purchased at the St. Johns County Pier, Tax Collector's Offices, and Recreation and Parks Office. The price increases by $10 beginning March 2nd. - Annual Easter Egg Hunt – Join us and our sponsors as we celebrate Easter with our Annual Egg Hunt at Treaty Park in St. Augustine. Staff transform fields into the Easter Bunny's playground with treats, games, refreshments, pictures with the Bunny himself, and more, at this fun filled event.
- Summer Specialty Camps – For the first time ever St. Johns County Recreation & Parks Department will be hosting specialty camps during the summer. We will be offering six different half day camps including: Golf, Volleyball (ages 12-14), TOT's Basketball (ages 7-11), Introduction to Fishing (ages 7-12), Intro to Sports (pre-K), and Speed & Agility Training (middle & high school). Space is limited so registration will be first come first serve. More information coming after April 1st.
- 8th Annual Bartram Bash – Come celebrate William Bartram's birthday and Earth Day at Alpine Groves April 21st, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Free food, crafts, games, and more. For more details, contact Beverly Fleming (904) 522-1573.
- Just TRI It! A Kids Triathlon – April 22nd come out for the fifth annual Just TRI It!, a non-competitive triathlon for children ages 5-12. Hosted by the Children's Museum of St. Johns, along with partners St. Johns County, and the YMCA of Florida's First Coast. This fun and safe race course is located at the Solomon Calhoun Center in West St. Augustine. All participants of Just TRI It! are awarded medals for their achievement, regardless of their finishing times. Visit the race website for more information.
- Field of Dreams Baseball – What child does not dream of the opportunity to play America's favorite sport? At the Field of Dreams, their dreams really can come true. Registration is open throughout the season to any special needs child ages 5 to 18 or up to age 21, if still in high school. Opening Day will be Saturday, February 11. Games will be held each Saturday until March 31, 2012. You can register in person at our Open House & Orientation Day, Saturday, January 7th, 9am - 12noon, or at fodbaseball.com. More information.
- Field of Dreams Volunteers & Sponsors – we are always thankful to our volunteers and sponsors and would be happy to have more. Please contact us if you have the desire and ability to help us provide a quality program. More information.

- Volunteer in Parks! To maintain the quality of our parks and programs, your Recreation and Parks Department needs help with park clean-up, guided tours, tutoring children, office work, and special events. For more info or to sign up, please contact Betsy Clarkson, Superintendent of Recreation, at 209-0335.
- Pardon Our Dust – The restrooms/locker rooms on the pool deck at the Solomon Calhoun Community Center swimming pool will be closed Monday, February 13 – Friday, February 25 for maintenance and repairs. Alternate restrooms in the center will be used during this time. We thank you for your cooperation and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our patrons.
- Lights Off Treaty – As part of a cost saving measure, all lights at Treaty Park, except for the Skate Park, will be shut down from December 17, 2011 – February 17, 2012. This includes the racquetball, basketball, tennis and paddle tennis courts, softball and multi-purpose fields. Lights will be back on starting February 18, 2012, at their regular time. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
- Lights Out Beach Volleyball Courts – As part of our cost savings measures, the lights at the Beach Volleyball Courts at St. Augustine Beach Pier will be shut down December 25, 2011 through February 25, 2012. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
